What decides the order
How We Rank Coupons
When you open a store page, the codes are ordered to put the ones most likely to work right now near the top. Here are the signals that decide that order, and the things that never do.
The signals we use
The order is a blend of the following. No single signal decides it alone.
- 1Recency of review. Codes reviewed more recently rank higher. A fresh review is the strongest signal that a code is currently live.
- 2Expiry. Codes with plenty of time left rank above codes about to expire. Expired codes are removed from the active listings entirely.
- 3Genuine community feedback. Reports from real shoppers who used the code raise it. We only count genuine reports, and a code needs enough of them before this signal carries weight.
- 4Usage. How often shoppers actually reach for a code, deduplicated per person so it cannot be inflated by repeat clicks.
- 5Editor top picks. A small number of codes are hand-picked as top picks. These are labeled as such so you always know when a placement is editorial.
The Health Score
Each code carries a Health Score, a rough 0 to 100 read on how likely it is to be live, blended from recency, expiry, usage, and genuine feedback.
When there is little real evidence behind it, the score is shown muted and labeled as an estimate, not a confirmed rating. It is one input to ranking, not a promise. Read more in how we verify coupons.
What never affects ranking
- How much commission a code earns us. Affiliate payout never moves a code up.
- Payment from a store. We do not sell placement or let merchants buy a higher spot.
- The seed or historical vote numbers that used to sit on old records. Only genuine feedback counts.
